The Charlotte Hornets hosted another pre-draft workout on Monday with a couple more prospects that will be in play during their series of picks between the late first and early second round.
Here are the players and their rankings from our Top 100.
- Toumani Camara, forward, Dayton, 83
- Armaan Franklin, guard, Virginia, unranked
- Colby Jones, guard, Xavier, 30
- Justyn Mutts, wing, Virginia Tech, unranked
- Julian Phillips, wing, Tennessee, 46
- Daivien Williamson, guard, Wake Forest, unranked
Jones and Phillips are the big names of intrigue here and both will be in play during the series of picks the Hornets will be making between 27 and 41.
Colby Jones is a do-it-all guard prospect that should fit in nicely as a high end role player. He defends really hard, makes the right reads on offense, and can maybe knock down some jumpers. He has a lot of qualities you look for in a depth combo guard.
Julain Phillips requires more projection. He’s got a great profile for a wing or forward defender, but he has to prove he can make shots to get on the floor in the NBA. The physical tools are very intriguing though.
The rest of the group is very ACC heavy with Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest all represented. Toumani Camara makes an appearance from Dayton, where he was a high level producer.
Here’s an updated list of all the workouts thus far. 48 players have made their way through Charlotte with a little over two weeks until the draft.
