It’s the battle of the Currys. Stephen Curry and his Warriors host Seth Curry and his Hornets with Papa Curry rooting for Seth. It should be must watch television just to hear Dell’s commentary.

The Warriors have had a really weird, tumultuous season. On the court, they’ve seen both wins and losses come in bunches. They had an early season win streak canceled out by a longer losing streak. Then they alternated wins and losses each game for about three weeks before a three game losing streak that was followed by a five game winning streak that was followed by another three game losing streak.

They had to deal with an unspeakable tragedy when assistant coach Dejan Milojevic passed away suddenly during a trip to Utah last month. Their following two games were postponed, and they’ve gone 10-4 since retaking the floor.

They’ve also had to deal with Draymond Green’s inability to handle his temper, resulting in an indefinite suspension that has long since been defined and lifted. They’ve had to deal with Klay Thompson and his inability to be good at basketball, which is still an ongoing saga. It’s resulted in Thompson being moved to a bench role, which seemed like a stroke of genius by Steve Kerr when Thompson poured in 35 points in his bench debut. That has quickly lost its luster after Klay scored three points on 1-of-9 shooting off the bench against the Lakers on Thursday.

You could probably lump Andrew Wiggins into that inability to play basketball well category too. He’s had a sudden and precipitous drop in production this season. He’s been shooting the ball way better recently, but the overall production still hasn’t quite returned to what he’s normally brought to the table.

The one constant in their season has been Stephen Curry. He is still somehow completely unguardable despite his 36th birthday coming up in just a couple of weeks. He’s been getting the most support from some young, unlikely sources. Rookie Brandin Podziemski is the one that’s taken Thompson’s spot in the starting lineup. He’s been coming into his own as the season has progressed and does a little bit of everything. Jonathan Kuminga was arguably the least qualified player of all time to have a story broken about his dissatisfaction with his role, but he’s backed it up by averaging a tick over 20 points per game since that story came out.

The Hornets are playing really good basketball right now. You almost might consider this a game between two good teams. It should be a fun way to spend a Friday night.
