No way the Hornets get swept by the worst team in the league, right? Right? The Wizards have gotten nearly a third of their total wins this season against the Hornets. They’re 7-48 against teams not from Charlotte this season. Truly an absurd situation to find yourself in if you’re the Hornets.

The Wizards have ruled out Jordan Poole for this game, perhaps because his elbow is hurt or perhaps because they’re trying to increase their odds of losing. Washington has two battle hardened vets in their lineup with Khris Middleton and Marcus Smart, but both are either washed or being dragged down by the Wizards aura. They’ve both played in three games as Wizards and are averaging a combined 17.7 points per game total between the two of them.

Bilal Coulibaly has been decent. Corey Kispert has good games sometimes. So does Bub Carrington. Old pal Jalen McDaniels is there on a 10 day contract that expires after today. He’s got 1 assist and 1 steal in 6 minutes this season.

Even though the Wizards are the Wizards, it’s kind of surprising to see the Hornets favored since they’ve out-Wizarded the Wizards since the Hornets upset win over the Lakers. But a trip back home can cure many ailments. Perhaps an inability to beat the Wizards is one of those.
