Garrett will take the place of Malachi Flynn, who apparently is only getting one 10 day stint as depth guard play for Charlotte. He’s the third guard the Hornets have signed on a 10 day contract this season after Flynn and Elfrid Payton.
Garrett has played with the Greensboro Swarm for the last two seasons, averaging about 10 points and 4 assists across those seasons. He appeared for the Hornets in the Summer League this past summer and averaged 8.5 points per game in those games.
Garrett fits the profile of all the guards the Hornets keep bringing in. He’s a good defender; he was Defensive Player of the Year his junior in college, but he absolutely cannot shoot. He should seamlessly fit in with Damion Baugh as an heir apparent to Elfrid Payton.
