Charlotte Hornets trade deadline extravaganza

Today is the NBA trade deadline. The Charlotte Hornets have already made a couple of moves, and I’d be surprised if they’re done. The rest of the league has gone coocoo and has sent players in every which way. It’s like playing 2K MyGM and watching the CPU controlled teams go nuts at random. You’ve got the Bulls over here trading for nothing but guards and having no one taller than 6’9″ on their roster. The Jazz and Wizards were rebuilding until they weren’t. Teams are swapping superstar guards just because. Pure chaos. And that was all before deadline day. There’s more to come, and there’s still a giant Greek trade waiting to be made.

So let’s use this space to chat about all the news that happens as it unfolds. I’ll try to update this space as I see trades come through, but no promises I can keep up if the pace stays where it’s at. I’m only gonna hit the big ones because we don’t really care to talk about other teams shuffling contracts and money around.

Hornets Trades

The Hornets are acquiring Coby White and Mike Conley Jr. in exchange for Collin Sexton, Ousmane Dieng (acquired by trading Mason Plumlee) and three second round picks. The Hornets also added another second rounder from OKC in the Plumlee/Dieng trade.

The Hornets are acquiring Tyus Jones and two second round picks in exchange for cash considerations.

Pat Connaughton has been waived.
