Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you surely knew that the 2023 NBA G League draft took place this weekend. It’s a highlight day on the basketball calendar. It’s so important, teams often elect to straight up not use their picks. The Charlotte Hornets G League affiliate Greensboro Swarm made one pick in the draft, and they used it on former Missouri guard Isiaih Mosley. Yes I spelled his name right.
Mosley spent his first three collegiate seasons with Missouri State, where he was a two time All Missouri Valley Conference player. He averaged 20.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assist with .504/.413/.875 shooting splits across his final two seasons there before transferring to Missouri for his senior season. He appeared in just 14 games, coming off the bench for 11 of them, and averaged 9.6 points per game.
That’s about the caliber of player that typically gets picked in these drafts. They’re usually just G League depth.
The G League season starts on November 10, so we’ll get more finalized rosters in the coming days. We’ll have that for you when it is released.
