2024 NBA Draft second round primer and open thread

We had the draft last night, and now we have more draft today. For some reason, it starts at 4:00 on ESPN, so I hope if you have a way to follow it in the middle of the afternoon on a workday.

The Charlotte Hornets somewhat surprisingly took forward Tidjane Salaun with the 6th overall pick. You can listen to Salaun’s thoughts on coming to Charlotte and general manager Jeff Peterson’s feelings about the pick here.

The Charlotte Hornets have the 42nd overall pick, which will be the 12th pick this evening. Teams get four minutes to turn their picks in, so I’d assume that pick will be announced sometime around 5:00 Eastern.

Here are ESPN’s top 20 best remaining players available so you can get an idea of what players the Hornets will likely be picking from.

  1. Johnny Furphy, wing, Kansas
  2. Kyle Filipowski, big, Duke
  3. Tyler Kolek, guard, Marquette
  4. Bobi Klintman, forward, Cairns (Australia NBL)
  5. Cam Christie, wing, Minnesota
  6. Adem Bona, big, UCLA
  7. Tyler Smith, wing, G League Ignite
  8. Juan Núñez, guard, Spain
  9. Kevin McCullar, wing, Kansas
  10. Justin Edwrads, wing, Kentucky

Use this space to talk about everything that has transpired and continues to transpire over the course of the day.

This is now an open thread!
