The Hornets have had two games in Los Angeles postponed because of the wildfires. No word yet on the status of those games. The postponements mean that the Hornets have had four days of rest and now have the somewhat unique situation of facing the same team in back to back games for a home and home.
The Hornets actually won the home leg of the two contests. Devin Booker feasted with midrange jumpers but the Hornets otherwise defended the Suns very well. They limited Phoenix to 42.4% from the field and 24.2% from three. Some symmetry in those numbers. LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges carried the Hornets offensively with some help from Nick Richards off the bench.
The recipe for a second straight win will be the same as Tuesday’s. It’d be nice to get more offensive contributions from Brandon Miller to make up for the shift from Charlotte to Phoenix. You probably also can’t count on the Suns to make such a low percentage of 3-point attempts, but if the Hornets can keep the attempts down, they should be okay.
